Custom Raised Artwork   -$20 per hour charge

Custom Raised Artwork is a way to add special customization to your custom leather binding.  Most shapes and designs can be turned into raised artwork for the cover or spine of the binding.  

The pricing for raised artwork is pretty simple.  The charge is $20 per hour for the work.  Based on the design given, we can give the customer an estimation of the cost but it could vary depending on how long it takes to complete the raised art.  The "expense" time would start when the design is being created and finishes when all of the leather tooling work is complete.

Most designs that are simple and less than 4" in diameter take approximately 3-4 hours to complete from start to finish.  So, for instance, to add 5 raised letters to the cover would likely take 30 minutes per letter to create the underlay, attach the underlay and glue and tool around the underlay.  5 letters x 30 minutes = 2 hours and 30 minutes which would cost $50 in addition to the cost of the rebind.  Simpler designs will be less expensive and very complex designs will be more expensive.
